Vancouver, BC, August 7, 2024 - This summer, Vancouver Chinatown’s newest cocktail and snack bar, Meo, invites guests to slip away for an afterwork rendezvous with colleagues, friends, or lovers for its new early evening Cinq à Sept menu.Exclusively available between the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be sip specials, snacks, and the usual clandestine intrigue as the night progresses.

“Our room is the perfect escape from the summer heat and we want to encourage a casual tête à tête before heading home in the French tradition of Cinq à Sept,” explains Ling, who also operates award-winning sister restaurants Bao Bei and Kissa Tanto together with chefs Joël Watanabe and Alain Chow.

Between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., guests can enjoy a selection of five snack dishes for $10 by chefs Watanabe and chef de cuisine Macià Bagur, including: Meo’s popular Croqueta, featuring a "Caesar Salad" roast chicken béchamel on gem lettuce; its take on the Patata Brava with crispy potato purée, brava sauce, and aioli; and Orly Vegetables, crispy fried eggplant, onion rings, green beans with a spicy romesco dipping sauce.

For drinks, bar manager Denis Bykov’s favourite top five cocktails are available for $10. These include the Matcha Highball (Roku gin, matcha, banana milk, tonka bean soda), Turkish Spagliato (Campari, Esquimalt Rosso vermouth, Bella Bubbza, rose water), and Espresso Carrotini (Beefeater blood orange gin, citrus peel infused cold brew coffee, carrot reduction).

There are also cold bottles of Tsingtao for $5, wines by the glass for $10, and bottles from the eclectic bubbles list for 35 percent off.
“Reservations are not necessary – we love seeing regulars and new faces stroll in on a whim for a delicious bite and drink at the bar or sliding into one of our cosy corner booths,” adds Ling. “Then stay at Meo for our dinner menu or return after a meal upstairs at Kissa Tanto. We’re open until late.”

During Meo’s Cinq à Sept hour and a half, guests can also order from its full menu.

Meo is open from 5:30 p.m. until 12 a.m., Wednesday and Thursday; from 5:30 p.m. to 1:00a.m., Friday and Saturday; and 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sunday.
